
Some suggestions to manage data without unpleasant surprises.
1) Maintain always double copy of data; one is used for being read ordinarily, while the second is for pure security: to put in archives and to utilize in case of necessity only.
2) During data daily work, save them often on hard disk; even every 5 minutes. Consider that each interval between a recording and another can be lost in case of system block.
3) Utilize an electrical continuity group which permits to save work in case of unexpected black-out.
4) If size of daily modified data is significative, a backup peripherical can be useful to automatic periodic hard disk's data recording.
